International Human Resource

Due to the decreasing costs of international travel, employers are now starting to consider expatriation. Expatriation is the act of sending skilled professionals to work in another country. This was not possible in the past because of low international mobility that is due to high costs and/or racial hostility. Because this is now a time of peace, employers can now send their most skilled workers to other countries that need the labor force.

This act is beneficial to both countries. The country that receives the workers gets the workforce they need to improve their economy while the country that sent the workers gets compensated with money. Expatriation is truly a wonderful act because it symbolizes the unity that the nations have. The only problem with it is that the things can get complicated when it comes to externalization.

This is mainly due to varying cultures, laws and company rules. This is the reason why only a few countries have tried utilizing externalization. The complexity of dealing with a company thousands of miles away is just too difficult even with the technological advancements that we enjoy today.

One of the biggest problems that companies encounter with expatriation is the complexity of the payment methods. Technically the workers who are sent abroad still work for the company in their home country which makes their salary a bit of a problem. Not to mention the payment of the taxes gets really confusing. The worker can get really muddled when it comes to paying taxes because he/she is technically working for two companies in two different countries.

This is the reason why there are companies that were created for expatriation management. These companies handle all the nitty-gritty when it comes to externalization. These companies and increasing international mobility have the potential to make expatriation a lot more viable to companies. It may seem a bit crazy to hire a third company when there is so much chaos with just two but these guys are professionals and they truly know what they are doing.

These companies can completely organize all of the dealings between the two companies in order to iron out all of the kinks and problems that they are experiencing. They even know what problems to expect when to societies meet head to head so they can take preemptive measures to prevent problems from happening.

It is definitely a shame not to make use of expatriation when there are so many countries that could use the labor force. Not to mention the ever increasing international mobility. Externalization is an amazing concept and more companies should do it for the sake of the improvement of the world’s economy.

Of course it is still recommended to hire companies that specialize in expatriation management in order to prevent any unnecessary squabble. Sure it may cost a bit more to make use of their services but a few savings is just not worth risking an international relationship with another country. Who knows maybe one day, countries can make deals like this without third party management.
